LONDON -- At least a dozen passenger flights across Europe received bomb threats on Thursday, according to officials and reports.

Airline and local officials have not detailed any specific suspicious items located on any of the affected flights, which were operated by several European carriers and whose destinations included cities throughout the continent, including Rome, Vienna, Brussels and Warsaw.

The bomb threats made on Thursday followed a wave of similar threats earlier in the week, when at least seven planes across Europe were searched or diverted following bomb threats.

A passenger flight traveling on Thursday from Dublin to Rome was diverted to a French military base "following a bomb threat," the French Prime Minister's Office said Thursday.

The Airbus A320 was diverted to Évreux-Fauville Air Base in the Normandy region of northern France, according to the prime minister's office.

"The situation is being monitored in real time," the prime minister's office added.

Ireland's flag carrier, Aer Lingus, confirmed its flight EI402 from Dublin to Rome was diverted to Normandy on Thursday morning "as a security precaution."

"The flight landed safely and Aer Lingus will work to reaccommodate customers to their final destination as soon as possible," the airline said.

A Wizz Air flight from Milan to Warsaw landed safely at its destination, according to ANSA, the Italian newswire. A Finnair flight from Helsinki to Vienna also landed safely, according to Reuters.

Bulgaria's state media reported three Ryanair passenger jets had threats made against them and that all landed safely, with two in Sofia, the capital, and another in Plovdiv.

Czech police said they were preparing for four flights to land after threats against them. A LOT Polish Airlines flight from Warsaw to Brussels was threatened, Belgian media reported.
