As summer begins to settle in, June's glowing strawberry moon is set to light up the night sky as the season's first full moon.
Often associated with abundance, growth and uplifting energy, the annual lunar event is seen by many as a symbolic start to the warmer months ahead.
Celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas spoke with "Good Morning America" about the meaning behind this full moon and how to embrace its energy.

When can you see the strawberry full moon in 2026?
The full moon reaches peak illumination in the U.S. on Monday, June 29, at 7:56 p.m. ET, according to the U.S. Naval Observatory's Astronomical Applications Department.
Why is it called the strawberry moon?
The name "strawberry moon" dates back many years and is tied to the short strawberry harvest season that takes place in June.
According to The Old Farmer's Almanac, which began publishing traditional full moon names in the 1930s, several Native American tribes used the name to mark the time of year when strawberries were ripe and ready to be gathered.
NASA states that the name "originated from the Algonquin tribes in the northeastern United States" and has continued to be passed down through the generations.
The Old Farmer's Almanac also notes that in Europe, June's full moon was sometimes called the honey moon or mead moon.
June has long been associated with marriage and is named after Juno, the Roman goddess of marriage. Some historians believe the name may also be linked to the modern term "honeymoon."
What zodiac sign is the strawberry moon in June?
The zodiac sign tied to each full moon is based on the moon's position in the night sky in relation to the astrological signs.
According to Thomas, that placement shifts slightly each year, shaping the energy and themes associated with the full moon.
This year's strawberry moon falls in Capricorn, the 10th sign of the zodiac and the opposite sign of Cancer. Thomas explained that Capricorn is a Cardinal Earth sign, meaning it is associated with ambition, discipline and building toward long-term goals.
"The axis of Cancer-Capricorn aids us in understanding the legacies that we build, as well as how we build from tradition and the past," he said.
Thomas added that Cancer is connected to home life, family, ancestry and emotional foundations, while Capricorn governs career, public image and professional success.
"In a sense, this duality mirrors the private and public life of each individual," he said.
