Tom Cruise, Angela Bassett and more step out for 'Mission: Impossible' world premiere

The stars aligned in Cannes, France, on Wednesday for the world premiere of "Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning."

Tom Cruise, Angela Bassett, Hayley Atwell and more were all smiles as they stepped out on the red carpet in glamorous looks.

"Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning" is the eighth film in the "Mission Impossible" franchise. It picks up from the cliffhanger ending of 2023's "Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning."

According to a description from Cannes, the new film sees Ethan Hunt (Cruise) fighting "a new, and particularly formidable, enemy: an AI called 'The Entity.'" The film hits theaters May 23.
