Bonnie Tyler "remains seriously ill but stable" in a Portuguese hospital, according to a new statement from the singer's family on Tuesday.

Despite her current condition, "her Doctors are still positive that she will make a full recovery," according to the statement. As part of the update, the family said they hoped to clarify "many lurid and untrue rumors."

The family also asked for privacy.

Tyler was put in a medically induced coma as she recovered from emergency intestinal surgery last week. A rep for the singer confirmed to ABC News in a statement on May 7.

"Bonnie has been put into an induced coma by her doctors to aid her recovery," her rep said in a statement.
