Rihanna, A$AP Rocky expecting 3rd child, rapper confirms at 2025 Met Gala
Rihanna is expecting baby No. 3.
The singer's baby news was confirmed Monday night at the 2025 Met Gala by her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky.
"It feels amazing, you know," A$AP Rocky told reporters after they congratulated him following media reports that the couple was expecting their third child, according to The Associated Press. "It's time that we show the people what we was cooking up, and I'm glad everybody's happy for us, 'cause we definitely happy, you know."
Rihanna herself showed up to the Met Gala carpet later in the evening, wearing a pin-striped ensemble that prominently showed off her pregnancy.
The outfit included a bolero jacket, structured bodice and a maxi skirt with button details. The singer, actor and businesswoman finished the look with a kerchief necktie, black and white heels, and a dramatic, wide-brimmed hat, keeping her makeup and jewelry simple.
Rihanna fueled pregnancy rumors earlier on Monday after she was spotted by paparazzi wearing a fitted midi skirt and matching top, strategically concealing her belly with what looked like a fur coat as she entered a hotel lobby ahead of the gala.
This is Rihanna's third child with A$AP Rocky.
They previously welcomed son RZA in May 2022 and son Riot in August 2023.
ABC News has reached out to Rihanna's representative for comment.
Rihanna told Interview in April 2024 that becoming a parent was "the best thing that ever happened" to the couple.
"I let god lead and just let go," she said at the time, when asked about her decision to start a family.
Referring to A$AP Rocky, she added, "When someone sees you completely, and believes in you, and thinks you're worthy of being the mother of their kids, it's a great feeling."
The singer opened up further about her children in February this year, in an interview with Harper's Bazaar.
"RZA is just an empath," she said then. "He's so magical. He loves music. He loves melody. He loves books. He loves water. Bath time, swimming, pool, beach, anything."
"And Riot, he's just hilarious," she continued. "When he wakes up, he starts to squeal, scream. Not in a crying way. He just wants to sing. And I'm like, 'Okay, here we go!' He's my alarm in the morning! He's not taking no for an answer from anyone. I don't know where he came from, dude."
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky first met in 2012 and started dating years later in 2019, according to an October 2024 feature on the rapper in W.
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky attended Monday night's Met Gala together. A$AP Rocky is a co-chair of this year's event.
The Met Gala was first organized and presided over by Anna Wintour in 1995 and is recognized as one of fashion's biggest nights. It also functions as a fundraiser for the Costume Institute and aligns with the opening of its annual fashion exhibition.
This year's theme and accompanying Costume Institute exhibition take inspiration from Monica L. Miller's 2009 book "Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity," according to Vogue. The dress code for the 2025 Met Gala is "Tailored for You."
