Kim Kardashian West pushes to end her marriage to Kanye West
Kim Kardashian West is continuing to push for a divorce from rapper Kanye West.
The Skims founder stated in a recent court filing, obtained by ABC News, that though she has requested "several times" that the rapper agree to terminate their marriage, he has not responded.
Kardashian West first filed for divorce in February, but has seemingly remained on good terms with her estranged husband.
"[West] and I both deserve the opportunity to build new lives," she stated in the filing. "Therefore, I am asking that my request to bifurcate and terminate our marital status be granted."
Kardashian West, 41, and West, 44, married in 2014 and share four children: North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2. In February, ABC News confirmed that in the wake of their split, the former couple, who had been living apart for some time, sought joint custody and were committed to co-parenting.
In the most recent court filing, an attorney for Kardashian West wrote, "There is no question that the marriage of the parties is no longer viable," and checked a box indicating that the reality TV star wished to restore her former name.
"[Kardashian West] no desire to reconcile with [West] and wants their marriage terminated," the statement reads. "Irreconcilable differences have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage through counseling or other means."
However, a source told People that West reportedly "hasn't lost hope to be with Kim again."
"His sole priority is making sure she's taken care of and treated like a queen, whether they're married or not," the source said. "That will always be a priority and that will never change."
Since the split, Kardashian West has been linked to "Saturday Night Live" comedian Pete Davidson, but she has not confirmed the nature of their relationship.
