Did Blake Lively attend the 2025 Met Gala?
As stars arrived on the Met Gala carpet Monday evening, some may have been searching for frequent Costume Institute Benefit attendee Blake Lively.
This year's theme was "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," and celebrities in attendance went different directions for their blue carpet looks, posing for photos and pausing for the occasional interview.
So, did the "Another Simple Favor" actress make her way to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the evening of May 5 to try her hand at this year's dress code, "Tailored for You?"
Did Blake Lively attend the Met Gala?
Fans of the actress -- or at least her past lavish looks -- were out of luck, as Lively did not attend this year's Met Gala. The no-show was expected, according to a People report citing an exclusive source.
"Blake and Ryan haven't gone since 2022, when they were co-chairs, and they will not be in attendance this year," the source reportedly told People ahead of the event.
"Good Morning America" also reached out to a representative for Lively previously to inquire about her attendance.
Has Blake Lively attended the Met Gala in the past?
Lively has been a frequent attendee of the Met Gala through the years. She has rocked a few iconic looks at the event, including her pink silk organza Burberry dress in 2016, her draped and feathered Atelier Versace dress in 2017, and her long flowing rose gold gown -- also designed by Atelier Versace -- in 2022, which was inspired by "New York City architecture and the classic buildings," according to her red carpet interview with People that night. (The gown itself opened up to reveal a soft teal-blue train once Lively was on the Met Gala steps.)
Lively has also brought husband Ryan Reynolds along with her to several Met Galas. In 2022, the pair were co-chairs of the event, the theme of which was "In America: An Anthology of Fashion."

Where do things stand with Blake Lively's legal issues?
Lively and her former "It Ends With Us" co-star and director Justin Baldoni have been embroiled in a monthslong legal battle that began in December 2024 when Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department accusing him of sexual harassment on the set of the film. (Baldoni has denied the allegation.)
The two launched dueling lawsuits against each other in the weeks that followed. Lively alleged in her lawsuit that Baldoni and key stakeholders in the film sexually harassed her and attempted, along with Baldoni's production company and his crisis PR company, The Agency Group PR, to orchestrate a smear campaign against her.
Baldoni sued Lively, Reynolds, the couple's publicist Leslie Sloane and Sloane's public relations company Vision PR for extortion and defamation, among other things.

What to know about this year's theme
In an Instagram post, Vogue described this year's theme as "examining the importance of clothing and style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora" with the Black dandy as its subject.
The theme and accompanying Costume Institute exhibition, which were announced in October 2024, take inspiration from Monica L. Miller's 2009 book "Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity," according to Vogue.
Vogue previously announced Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams and Anna Wintour as the 2025 Met Gala co-chairs, with NBA star LeBron James serving as honorary chair. While most of the co-chairs were present for Monday's gala, James did not attend, citing a knee injury he sustained during an NBA playoff game the week prior. His wife Savannah James attended the event solo.
